The Kyptec Automation® 25 MM Line Scan Camera Lens is engineered specifically for high-resolution line scan imaging and supports camera configurations specified at 4K with 7 μm pixels and 8K with 3.5 μm pixels. It uses an M42 lens mount and provides an F2.8–22 aperture range, giving system designers broad control over illumination, exposure and depth of field.
Line scan imaging places different optical demands on a lens compared with conventional area-scan imaging. The optical system must maintain useful resolution and image quality across the active sensor line because every acquired line contributes directly to the reconstructed two-dimensional image. Inconsistent sharpness, geometric distortion or inadequate optical resolution can propagate through the complete scanned image.
The 25 MM focal length provides a comparatively wider line-scan field than the longer 35 MM and 50 MM options when used under equivalent conditions. This can be valuable when the optical system needs to cover a wider object width while maintaining a practical camera position.
Support for 8K/3.5 μm imaging is especially significant because the smaller pixel pitch demands higher spatial resolving performance from the lens.
